LETTING GO

by | Aug 14, 2020

This blog is for those who struggle with anger or bitterness toward a person or situation. I went through a very difficult work situation and without prayer and the Lord guiding me, I don’t know how I would have endured that trial. Do you find yourself in a strained relationship or a difficult situation?

Psalm 103:6 says, “The Lord does what is right and fair for all who are wronged by others.”  Release the person or situation to the Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to work in you. Choose to leave it all with God!

These verses in Psalm 103:8-10 demonstrate further His character, “The Lord shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and he has great love. He will not always accuse us, and he will not be angry forever. He has not punished us as our sins should be punished.”

Remember the great mercy and kindness the Lord showed you when He died on the cross for your sins. He accepted our punishment in order that many would be saved and have salvation through Jesus Christ. This is the Good News that frees us in Christ Jesus to show His love, not anger, bitterness or condemnation.

Another verse to meditate on in order to overcome having anger toward a person or situation is John 3:17, “God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.”

Remember, Jesus Christ died for everyone and God wants everyone to be saved. We need the Holy Spirit to help us see people and situations from Jesus’ perspective not our own.

“The Lord shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and he has great love. He will not always accuse us, and he will not be angry forever. He has not punished us as our sins should be punished.”

Psalm 103:8-10

Thank you Lord for your healing and restoration in relationships and situations in our lives. Thank you for the peace you give when we intentionally submit to the Holy Spirit to bring us help and healing. The verses in Colossians 3:23-24 helped me focus on Jesus during this trial, “In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people. Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, which He promised to His people. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
