One night during the pandemic, I woke up with this phrase in my mind, “Jesus Only You.” This thought that was running through my mind was not by coincidence. I began writing my thoughts down about this phrase “Jesus Only You”. The first being He does not change. Everything in our lives change but Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. The second thought I had was He gives us unspeakable Joy in life. Nothing else in our life does despite all the wonderful things in this world. The third being that Jesus alone gives us peace. He gives us a peace that passes all our understanding. When everything in our lives seems chaotic Jesus can calm us with His peace. Another thought I had was that He gives us hope for each new day. We get tired and uncertain and He gives us a hope that nothing else in this life can bring us.
I had a student once tell me his Senior quote and it really stuck with me, “Everything in life is long, except life itself.” This global pandemic has really made me realize how brief life really is especially with this virus. I am so thankful that the Lord reminded me that night that He is the only one who can bring us Joy, peace and hope in this world. I am forever grateful for His love and forgiveness. If you have not taken the time to really meditate on God’s Word and seek Him in prayer, now is the perfect time. The Lord is waiting with open arms.
