There is a verse that has been on my mind during this pandemic. It is Isaiah 43:19, “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” This verse speaks of new things. During this pandemic we have had to get used to doing things much different then we have in the past. I believe that the Lord is teaching us a “new way” through this pandemic. It has slowed and in some cases halted our lives. I was thinking about how this has impacted each of us. God was not surprised by the global pandemic and is still very much in control. This pandemic has slowed all of the activities we found ourselves involved in before we were forced to stop doing so many things in our lives. There were days early on during our “lock down” where I would just sit in our back yard and just be quiet. I was so amazed at how even the birds were affected by the pandemic. Scientists said that birds were chirping louder and singing more due to the quiet in our towns. I sense that the Lord wants to quiet us all down so we can focus more on Him. When we begin to focus more on Him and His purposes in our lives we can begin to grow in our walk! As we become more and more like Jesus, we can begin to show those around us the beauty that the Lord has put in each of us.
I pray that through these difficult days you find hope and peace in knowing that the Lord is in control. He wants each of us to slow down and draw our strength from Him.
