JOY IN LIFE
Finding joy in this life can be difficult. Happiness and joy are very different and most people are looking for happiness which never seems to last! Jesus came to bring us joy and many times we turn Him away in search of it in a person or job. No person or position...
GIVE IT TO GOD
Recently I had a medical screening test and had to wait several days to find out if I had cancer or not. I have shared before that at times we may feel like we have control of things in our life but going through this reminded me that in fact we are not in control. My...
DEFENDER
I love the song Defender. The lyrics were written by Rita Springer, Steffany Gretzinger and John-paul Gentile…
FULLNESS IN HIM
We are like an empty balloon that needs helium in order to serve its purpose. Without God filling us, we are stuck. We don't know what plan He has for us. We have to come knowing He is our source and will give us His best plan! Don't let your mind and heart be...
WAITING
Waiting is something that we have become accustomed to during this global pandemic. It is something that can be really hard for us to do at times. Right before the pandemic hit, I made a change in work. The company I worked for was restructuring and I felt like it was...
GOD IS NEAR
This month I have been really focused on prayer and waiting on the Lord for answers. It has been a month where I have had things that I have been in prayer to the Lord for in my life and my families life. I have been meditating on several verses that have helped me...
TRUSTING GOD
God wants you to be dependent on Him alone above everything else. Do you trust more in other things in your life like your job, money or a spouse? The Lord wants more than anything for you to rely on Him and to draw your strength from your relationship with Him. He...
IN THE WILDERNESS
There is a verse that has been on my mind during this pandemic. It is Isaiah 43:19, "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." This verse speaks of new things. During...
A HEART OF GRATITUDE
Celebrating Thanksgiving this year looked different because of the pandemic. We would have loved to celebrate the day with our family! We knew it is best to wait until it is safe to see our family and a vaccine may be coming out soon. During the days leading up to...
A FAITHFUL FRIEND
Are you in a "waiting season" of life? Many of us probably feel like that during this global pandemic. This is where we find ourselves at times. During this time, I have tried to just be content in the waiting. I have asked the Lord to lead as He sees best in my life....
God is Faithful
Lately I have been thinking about all of the promises the Lord has for those of us who know Him as their Lord and Savior. This pandemic has made me realize how much in this life that we take for granted each and every day. If we delight ourselves in Him alone and put...
PRAYER SUSTAINS US
Some years back, I struggled with depression. It was a really difficult time in life as I had two small children and stayed at home for the first time in my life. It was quite a transition for me. I am sure many of you can relate to this transition. It was a blessing...
JOY IN LIFE
One night during the pandemic, I woke up with this phrase in my mind, "Jesus Only You." This thought that was running through my mind was not by coincidence. I began writing my thoughts down about this phrase "Jesus Only You". The first being He does not change....
IN THE WAITING
Hebrews 4:15 is a foundational verse for me. It says, "For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin." This verse gives me such hope in this season of life. Do you ever...
PRAYING PSALM 91 IN THE PANDEMIC
Psalm 91 has been a chapter that really speaks to my heart during this pandemic. Right after we were in lock-down in our state, the Lord brought this chapter to my mind. We found out that someone we knew had COVID-19 and I began praying these verses and memorizing...
LETTING GO
This blog is for those who struggle with anger or bitterness toward a person or situation. I went through a very difficult work situation and without prayer and the Lord guiding me, I don’t know how I would have endured that trial. Do you find yourself in a...
TRUSTING GOD IN COVID-19
With so much uncertainty during this pandemic, life as we once knew it has changed drastically. I will admit, I am a “planner” by nature. So, needless to say, I am learning to cope with the fact that any plan we have or think we have could change at a moment’s notice....
OVERCOMING DOUBT
One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Psalm 139. As a young adult, I struggled with insecurity and doubt. Like me, does this pandemic bring up feelings of doubt or uncertainty? No one in my family has lived through a global pandemic. Psalm 139 has helped me...
SEARCHING
Have you ever thought about the internal struggle that is within yourself? The facade you feel you need to portray to the world? You may be “fighting” the wrong battle. The battle to stand up for this cause or that cause. You are looking for acceptance and love, to be affirmed in yourself.
Authentic Connections
I have been thinking a lot since we have been in a global pandemic. Not being able to see family and friends in person during lock down has been really tough for me. It has me thinking about how we “connect” with each other through social media.
Seeking the Best Path
A few months ago, I was in a Bible Study on the book of Proverbs. In the study it spoke about how humble people are willing to listen to advice and input. Then take the advice and filter it with the Bible. It reminded me of 1 Peter 5:6-7, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
Where are you God?
So I have been wrestling with these thoughts lately. It has been when I wake up or am driving in my car. It is that “raw” feeling you get when totally exposed. You sense everything is stripped away and all you can say is, “Jesus I trust you.” Have you ever been there?
