Authentic Connections

by | Jul 9, 2020

I have been thinking a lot since we have been in a global pandemic. Not being able to see family and friends in person during lock down has been really tough for me. It has me thinking about how we “connect” with each other through social media.

What I have learned in my experience with social media is that it distracts me from my walk with Jesus. I can not believe the amount of media that is posted on a daily basis. I can see how someone could spend hours in a day on a screen thinking they are keeping up with family, friends and connecting with them. For me, it left me with an “empty” feeling. Aren’t we all looking for an authentic and true friend to be in relationship with in life?

There is a verse that I believe calls us to that intimate relationship with Jesus. It is Psalms 105:4, “Seek more of his strength! Seek more of him! Let’s always be seeking the light of his face.”

I have found renewed peace each time I am led back to Jesus and seeking Him above all other things in this life that keep me from having Him number one in my life.

Seek more of his strength! Seek more of him! Let’s always be seeking the light of his face.

– Psalms 105:4

Lord thank you for the peace you give when we follow after you. Lamentations 3:25 says, “The Lord is good to those who hope in him, to those who seek him.” Amen.
